West Virginia officials said no graves were disturbed at a cemetery where a deceased baby was discovered last week.
On Thursday, a person called 911 after discovering a baby while decorating a grave at Baylous Cemetery in Salt Rock. A broken casket was found nearby, on a hillside, according to WOWK.
The baby is believed to have been a boy who was a few months old. Cabell County Sheriff Doug Adams said there’s no indication that any graves at Baylous Cemetery were tampered with, according to WSAZ.
Adams said the incident appears to be isolated. Meanwhile, the infant’s body was sent to the West Virginia Medical Examiner’s Office.
