VIDEO: Taylor Schabusiness Attacks Another Attorney in Court

A Wisconsin woman who was convicted of killing a man in 2022 — after attacking her attorney in the case — attacked her latest attorney in court last week.

WBAY reported that Taylor Schabusiness was in court on Friday for attacking a guard at Taycheedah Correctional Institution, where she is serving a life sentence for killing Shad Thyrion, 24. Officers carried Schabusiness out of the courtroom by her arms and legs after she lunged at her lawyer.

The lawyer asked to withdraw from Schabusiness’ case following the assault. The court denied his request at the time, but he can file to withdraw after Friday’s hearing.

Though Schabusiness was hauled out of court during her preliminary hearing, she reappeared via videoconference a short time later. She was filmed in restraints for eight minutes before court adjourned for the day.

A month earlier, Schabusiness was found competent to stand trial for attacking a prison guard in July. WBAY reported that a detective testified on Friday that Schabusiness was in the nurse’s office when she lunged at the nurse. A sergeant reportedly pushed the nurse out of the way to deal with Schabusiness — who allegedly swung a small table at the sergeant.

The sergeant reportedly pepper sprayed Schabusiness before other guards intervened and restrained her. Schabusiness has pleaded not guilty to the latest charge.

In 2023, Schabusiness was sentenced to life in prison for murder. Schabusiness claimed she was in a sexual relationship with Thyrion when she strangled and sexually assaulted him. She also dismembered his body and left his severed remains throughout his home and car.

Thyrion’s head was discovered in a bucket in his basement. Thyrion’s mother testified that she initially believed her son’s head was fake.

It was during that murder trial when Schabusiness attacked her lawyer during a competency hearing. That lawyer ultimately withdrew from the case, and Schabusiness was deemed fit to stand trial.
