Louisiana Sheriff’s Deputy Charged With Soliticting Minor for Sex, Fired from Job

A Louisiana sheriff’s deputy was arrested Thursday on a warrant from Texas charging him online solicitation of a minor.

The Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office said it fired David Q. Williams, 34, after his arrest, which stemmed from an incident om 2020 with a girl under the age of 16, but also noted that “a person is innocent until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt.”

Williams was booked into the Calcasieu Correctional Center and will be extradited to Texas to face the charge.

Neither the sheriff’s office nor the Texas Department of Public Safety, which issued the warrant for Williams’ arrest, has provided any further information about the incident or about Williams’ tenure with law enforcement.
