‘I Was Doing Witchcraft to Kill My Mom’: Texas Man Charged With Mom’s Murder After Sending Snapchat Photo of Her Body

Fort Worth police got an anonymous phone call early Friday morning that led them to a home where they found a man covered in blood carrying a Bible and a woman also covered in blood and beaten to death with trauma to her face and upper body.

The man, identified as 23-year-old Alexander Taylor Valdez, told arriving police officers he “was doing witchcraft to kill my mom,” and that she was dead inside the home, KTVT reported. Police also found a dead dog in the room.

Valdez told police it was “an exorcism” as he walked out of the home and sat on the front porch. Police found 58-year-old Teresita Sayson dead in the home’s master bedroom. According to an arrest warrant, police say Valdez hit her multiple times with an object, possibly a jewelry box found at the scene with blood and hair consistent with his mother.

The anonymous caller who brought police to the home around 1:30 a.m. told dispatchers they’d received a photo via Snapchat that showed a woman covered in what appeared to be blood.

After he was brought to police headquarters for an interview, Valdez stopped talking and asked for an attorney.
